Pharmacological effect Microlax

The combined laxative preparation comprises sodium citrate, which displaces water from the stool, sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, which liquefies the contents of the intestine, and sorbitol, which enhances the laxative effect by stimulating the delivery of water. This complex effect helps soften stools and facilitate bowel movements. Laxative effect of the drug begins 5-15 minutes after its administration.

Method of application and dose Microlax

Adults and children over 3 years of age should be given the contents of 1 microenema (5 ml), inserting a tip for the full length.Neonates and children under 3 years of age should be given the contents of 1 microenema, inserting the tip for half length (see tip mark).

Patients should be warned that if complaints persist for a long time, they should contact their doctor.Instructions for use1. Break the seal on the tip of the tube.
2. Press lightly on the tube so that a drop of the drug lubricates the tip of the enema (to facilitate the introduction process).
3. For five-mL microenemas, in children under 3 years old, insert a half-length enema tip into the rectum, in children over 3 years of age, and in adults, insert a full length enema tip.
4. Pressing the tube, squeeze completely its contents.
5. Remove the tip while still slightly squeezing the tube.
