Pharmacological effect Pentalgin

The preparation Pentalgin is a complex agent having analgesic, anti-inflammatory, spasmolytic and antipyretic activity. Its major components, such as paracetamol, naproxen, caffeine, drotaverine, and pheniramine, contribute to the effectiveness of the drug.
Paracetamol is an analgesic-antipyretic, providing relief of fever and pain. It blocks the Pain Treatment Centers in the Central Nervous System, affecting the centers of pain perception and thermoregulation.

Naproxen belongs to the group of NSAIDs and has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effect. It suppresses the activity of Pain Treatment Centers, which control the synthesis of prostaglandins, which helps reduce inflammation and pain relief.
Caffeine is a psychostimulant that helps dilate blood vessels in skeletal muscles, the heart, and the kidneys. It improves physical and mental performance, relieves fatigue and sleepiness. Caffeine also enhances the permeability of histohemic barriers, which contributes to the increased effectiveness of non-narcotic analgesics.

Drotaverine has a myotropic spasmolytic effect caused by inhibition of Phosphodiesterase 4. It affects the smooth muscles of the Gastrointestinal Tract, biliary tract, genitourinary system, and blood vessels.
Pheniramine is a histamine H1 receptor blocker. It has spasmolytic and mild sedation, reduces exudation and enhances the analgesic effect of paracetamol and naproxen.
